SEMINAR ON AMATEUR RADIO (19 October 2016)
by Admin User - Wednesday, 12 October 2016, 8:36 AM

Amateur Radio is a very exciting field of interest and hobby that demands a broad spectrum of technical knowledge and expertise in electrical engineering. Advances in radio communication and and personal computing that we enjoy would not be possible without the pioneering works of the early inventors and researchers such as Marconi and Hertz. To continue the spirit of inventing and experimenting new ways of communication, small bands of enthusiasts demanded excess to the highly contested radio spectrum, thus forming the ham radio operators- licensed to operate radio equipment for experimental and self training purposes. To share the excitement of talking "through ether", I will present a 2 hour seminar on "The World of Amateur Radio" as follows:

Date: 19 October 2016, Wednesday.
Time: 3-5pm
Venue: D1

Topics covered during the seminar would includes:

  • History and Advances of Radio Communication
  • Amateur Radio Examination and Licensing
  • Amateur Radio Operating Procedures
  • Exploring the World of radio Communications
